Meet Your Artist.
Personal Attention. Original Artwork.
It Helps to Know Who You’re Working With
A tattoo is a personal choice, and choosing the artist deserves just as much consideration as choosing the design. You want to feel comfortable sharing your ideas, asking questions, and talking honestly about what you hope to achieve.
At Tattoo Saloon in Evansville, you work directly with owner and tattoo artist Kenny Waters. From your first conversation through the creation of your tattoo, he is the person getting to know your idea and bringing it to life.
That direct relationship makes room for a real conversation about the artwork you’ll be wearing.
Your Ideas Belong in the Conversation
Some clients come in with reference photos and a well-developed concept. Others have a subject, a feeling, or a few different ideas they want help bringing together. Both are welcome starting points.
Kenny begins with a consultation and conversation. What draws you to the idea? Which details matter most? Do you picture something bold and colorful, softly shaded, or clean and understated? Those discussions help establish a direction for a design that feels right to you.
You don’t have to be an artist to explain what you want. Photos, design inspiration, and a conversation give Kenny a place to begin creating your original piece.
Twenty-Three Years of Experience, Applied to Your Tattoo
Kenny’s 23 years as a tattoo artist give him a broad foundation to draw from when developing custom work. His range includes realism, black-and-gray, black-and-gray realism, traditional, neo-traditional, and fine line.
For you, that versatility creates room to explore. You may know exactly which style you like, or you may recognize elements in several examples without knowing what to call them. Looking at the work together can help you describe your preferences and consider how they might fit your idea.
Experience also informs the practical design choices: how the elements work together, where detail belongs, and how the composition fits the intended placement. Each choice contributes to the finished piece.
Original Art With a Personal Starting Point
Tattoo Saloon is a fully custom shop. Kenny creates original artwork for each client, using the consultation as the foundation for the design.
A reference photo might help communicate a subject. An example might show the shading or mood you like. A personal story might explain why a particular detail belongs in the piece. Those starting points help guide the artwork toward something individual.
The design process gives your idea shape, with your preferences and chosen placement informing the result.
Room for Questions—and a New Direction
If you’re getting your first tattoo, there may be plenty you want to understand before scheduling. If you already have several, you may have specific preferences or a new direction in mind. Either way, your questions are part of the conversation.
Kenny also works with clients considering coverups. Discussing what you’d like to change and looking closely at the existing tattoo helps him assess the possibilities. It’s an opportunity to talk through realistic options before deciding how to move forward.
Whether you’re starting fresh or rethinking an older piece, the first step is understanding what you want from the experience.
Start With a Call
Getting started doesn’t require a finished drawing or a perfectly explained concept. Call Kenny, tell him what you have in mind, and arrange a time to discuss it.
